卵巢
卵巢，解剖名。位于女性盆腔内，为成对的实质性器官。属女性性腺，呈扁卵圆形，分内、外侧面，前、后缘和上、下端。外侧面贴于盆腔侧壁，位于髂内、外动脉起始部之间的夹角处，内侧面朝向子宫；上端借卵巢悬韧带与盆腔壁相连，下端借卵巢固有韧带连于子宫；后缘游离，前缘有系膜附着，并有血管、淋巴管和神经出入。其大小及形状随年龄增长而有改变：幼女期，表面光滑；青春期后，由于多次排卵，表面形成瘢痕，凹凸不平；性成熟期卵巢最大，长2.5～5.0cm，宽1.5～3.0cm，厚0.6～1.5cm。绝经后，体积显著减小，而在老年妇女，其长、宽、厚度都只有0.5cm左右。其主要功能是产生和排出卵细胞，分泌性激素，以促进女性性征的发育并维持之。一般而言，左、右卵巢每月交替排出一成熟卵子。
